where we live
- This is where we live.
- The nearest place of any size is Burbage, 1 mile to the east.
- To reach us you'll need to take some good old fashioned country roads.
- Here and there the road is shared... horses, cattle, tractors.
- Lots of twists lots of turns.
- No rush. You can't.
- The farm is reached by a private road, the road lined with poplars.
- Beyond the poplars there are fields, rolling hills and more trees.
- It's peaceful here.
- The perfect place to relax.
- To stop, to take a step away from the routine and rush of the boardroom.
- Space to breath, clear your mind.
- A learning environment that is quite literally a breath of fresh air.
The landscape, the delicious food, the warm welcome is a crucial part to the learning process, it helps people to reconnect with what it is to be human and experience joy, peacefulness, compassion, fulfilment and vitality.
Pam Billinge, Founder Equest
about our home
The close relationship which Equest enjoys with Suddene Park Farm began in 2008 in the mountains of Colorado, when Pam met Sarah Wearing who was also studying horsemanship there. Their friendship stood the test of time and in 2012 Equest relocated from Norfolk to Suddene Park Farm in Wiltshire, which Sarah now runs. The farm is also her home and the warm welcome there reflects just that. The views from the cosy classroom, which we lovingly call The Pavilion, are second to none. Before you even step outside of the double doors into the garden, you will be smitten.
Horses are part of the warp and weft of life in east Wiltshire. The herd who Equest work with are all privately owned and have other lives. From children’s ponies to sleek competition horses, leisure rides to adored companions, all the equine learning partners we work with have thing in common. They all have the choice whether to participate or not. Sarah carefully selects which of the herd will join the Equest team to support you, from one programme to the next. They do not need any special training to do our work with us. All they have to do is be a horse.
